IT’S ALL ABOUT BEING HEALTHY, ENERGETIC, AND WITH THE VITALITY TO ENJOY LIFE
Acupuncture is the practice of penetrating the skin with thin, solid, metallic needles which are then activated through gentle and specific movements of the practitioner’s hands or with electrical stimulation.
Acupuncture points stimulate the central nervous system, releasing neurotransmitters that aid the body in returning to homeostasis. These biochemical changes may relieve pain, stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.
Acupuncture is a therapeutic tool of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). TCM is a comprehensive review of systems, accounting for the whole body and any miscellaneous factors that may affect our health (i.e. lifestyle, diet, and environment.). It is centered around the belief that every symptom is related to a root cause – nothing is random, and disease arises due to an imbalance in the body.TCM is used to assess, diagnose, and plan a course of treatment for a patient, Acupuncture is one of many tools that A.P.’s can use to treat an imbalance in the body.
We offer two styles of Acupuncture treatment sessions: Express Acupuncture and Traditional Acupuncture . Express Acupuncture takes place in our upstairs “Express Wellness” bays and consists of acupuncture only; There are two options for this type of session (explained below). Ear Reflexology can be done with tiny acupuncture needles, laser therapy, micro-current, magnetic gold plated balls, or small seeds. The ear is examined and tested for tender spots. These tender spots are often related to the organ or body area that they represent. Many forms of treatment use therapies that use the imaging of a micro-system with one part of the body representing the whole body. With auriculotherapy, the auricle (the ear) serves as a microsystem in that the external ear is like a microcosm of the whole body. Microsystems have been reported for foot reflexology, hand reflexology, face acupuncture, scalp acupuncture, and iridology.
HOW IT WORKS?
As with distal acupoints in body acupuncture, the auricular microsystem can be used to treat health conditions in distant parts of the body. Stimulating points on the ear not only can alleviate problems associated with nearby regions of the face and head, but can also relieve pathological disorders in the chest, abdomen, lower back, and feet. In addition, auriculotherapy can be used as a very effective detox protocol for those that are in the process of stopping the use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco and excess eating. It can relieve cravings and other symptoms of withdrawal.
