Gua sha may also be used to relieve flu-like symptoms such as cough, sore throat, chills and fever (*not used in our clinical practice).

Cupping uses negative pressure on the skin to lift the surrounding tissue and muscle, allowing more blood and oxygen to reach the associated area. This treatment method feels similar to a massage and the pressure used differs for each patient’s preference. Fire cupping uses heat to create this negative pressure, other forms of cupping use suction.
